Project Background: Dhaka Water Supply Network Improvement Project (DWSNIP) aims to improve provision of sustainable, reliable, and climate-resilient water supply in Dhaka city. It will enhance the distribution network efficiency gains achieved under two previous Asian Development Bank (ADB) financed projects to Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) for improving service delivery and capacity building. DWSNIP impact will be safe drinking water made available for all urban population. The outcome will be sustainable provision of more reliable, improved, and climate-resilient water supply in Dhaka city ensured. The outputs will be DWASA’s (i) distribution network strengthened; (ii) sustainable DMA management capacity enhanced; and (iii) capacity for quality service delivery enhanced.
Objectives of the Assignment: The objective of the assignment is to mitigate the losses and restore the socio-economic status of the Aps and to carry out activities for preparation and implementation of the RAP and strengthening of delivery capacity of the employer at the field level.
Actual Services provided by SAMAHAR:
- Preparation, updating and implement final RPs.
- Plan the work to be undertaken in conjunction with the DMS contractors
- Identify the vulnerable APs in project areas, prepare the list of the potential APs and issue ID card for each AP considered entitled for compensation for being affected by the project works.
- Assist the PMU for paying the required compensation to each AP
- Mobilize APs to be supportive during construction times
- Develop and keep updated a database recording the APs and status of compensation payment, recording the grievance/complaint received and its redressed status
- Prepare monitoring and monthly and quarterly progress reports
