Brief description of main deliverables/outputs:
Livelihood Enhancement- trainings on occupational health and safety, leadership, income generation and savings including linkages to financial institutions were to enhance sustainable livelihoods entrepreneurship support, business linkage and employment support. provided skills development and capacity enhancement training (leadership, skill development, entrepreneurship support, employment generation, income generation, savings, business linkages and women empowerment etc. where 17,425 beneficiaries’/bridges construction workers (61% female) beneficiaries
Actual Services provided by SAMAHAR:
- Develop policy guideline, Guideline, Training Manuals for LGED roads and bridges, incorporate OHS norms and specification and in contract documents and develop standard operating procedures.
- OHS capacity building, ensuring development and implementation of Labor-Management Plan (LMP)/labor management measures.
- Development of training and awareness materials, site monitoring and reporting.
- Set up training centers at respective region and Setup the training center with all facilities like furniture, fixture, training equipment, fan, drinking water, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) equipment, CCTV, attendance monitoring system, internet etc.
- Providing hands-on support to LGED at the implementation level, national and international training and fellowships to LGED staff (when needed) and forming Bridge Labor Contracting Societies (BLCS)
- Targeting ethnic minority and destitute sections of society- comprising of 80% women for bridge maintenance
- Identify different groups and implement the skill and social development program
- Implementation of Skill and Social Development Program
- Conduct assessment and issue certificates for completion of Skills
- Assisting the contractor in the inclusion of labor influx risk mitigation and in preparing Labor-Management Plan (LMP).
- Training the contractor on executing the LMP/labor management measures and assistance in stopping illegal child labor
- Organizing formal training for LGED engineer/all category of staff and arrangement of health education Program and creating awareness among laborers and beneficiaries
- Conduct monitoring and Inception, Monthly Progress, Annual report and final submission.
