Name of the Assignment: Capacity Development of Selected Destitute Women Crews and Training Activities (Awareness and IGA)

Project Background: To mitigate the problems of poverty, the Government of Bangladesh has approved the project entitled “Rural Employment & Road Maintenance Programme – 2”. The project will be implemented all over Bangladesh with total 5520 beneficiaries. The project aims at graduate the project beneficiaries form ultra-poverty to a decent life by improving in their financial, health and social status. The selected women crews have been saved a significant portion of their wage or salary under this project. The objectives of the project are:
- Sustainably graduate 59,180 women – headed households from ultra-poverty of the specific location.
- Support government initiatives to sustainably reduce hunger and poverty
- Year round maintenance of 90960 km of rural access roads to markets and service centers
Objectives of the Assignment: The objectives of the assignment are to help in developing the livelihood skills of the project beneficiaries and monitor their health and livelihood status and assist the beneficiaries to become self-reliant at the end of the project. The general objectives of the assignment are effective and sustainable capacity development of the destitute women crews recruited under the project.
Actual Services provided by SAMAHAR:
Activity 1: Income generation and business skills development training for ultra-poor women beneficiaries
Activity 2: Skills development training on practical nutrition, homestead vegetable production, health and hygiene, accounts keeping etc. for women beneficiaries.
Activity 3: Training on social awareness raising programs for ultra-poor women beneficiaries.
