Project Background: The project targets were poverty alleviation through employment generation among ultra-poor of Bangladesh through capacity building, livelihood development, social empowerment, micro-savings of the beneficiaries of the project. Ensured skill development training and providing post-training entrepreneurship support, business linkage, employment support mentorship program, business counselling, women empowerment and economic engagement support for 5,360 destitute women beneficiaries;
Actual Services provided by SAMAHAR:
- Improved women empowerment and economic engagement.
- Ensured effective and sustainable capacity development of the destitute women
- Ensured income generation and business skills development
- Provide training on practical nutrition and reproductive health for adolescent girls, newlywed women and young mothers.
- Provide training on social awareness program
- Preparing area-based skill development training module and reporting in consultation with LGED;
- Identify village level training center sites in consultation with PMUs in accessible locations
- Setup the training center with all facilities with furniture, fixture, training equipment, fan, provision of pure drinking water, separate toilets for male and female trainees etc.
- Collect list of beneficiaries from each Upazilla
- Form Upazila Coordination Committee (UCC), Organize quarterly UCC meetings
- Conduct consultations to develop a list of life skills, mentoring and leadership training activities to be delivered based on the needs of the community
- Organize module/curriculum adaptation workshop with respected stakeholders
- Conduct training on social norm and gender-sensitization the training contents
- Produce communication awareness materials such as leaflet, banner, poster, and undertake the communication activities at the field level
- Provide multiple trainings for capacity building on raising awareness on social norms, practical nutrition, Socio Emotional and Behavioral (SEB) Training, climate change impacts on agriculture production etc.
- Provide mentorship and counseling support to provide business guidance and address specific barriers faced by beneficiaries who are particularly vulnerable or at risk
- Integrated approach at the local levels integrated with master communication strategy
- Conduct assessment and issue professional certificates for completion of Skills
- Attend monthly coordination meeting chaired by the Executive Engineer (EE) at District level
- Collect approved modules of life skills, mentoring and leadership training and prepare session plan
