Name of the Assignment: Consultancy Services for Developing Competency Based Learning Materials (CBLM) for Selected Occupations

Project Background: The National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) in Bangladesh is working to improve the skills of young people, particularly those who lack the required skills for employment. The NSDA aims to create a demand- and supply-based skills market, acquaint skilled manpower at the national and international level, and draw attention to the competitive skills and standards of Bangladesh. By transforming the country’s workforce, the NSDA aims to achieve national productivity and make it a middle-income nation by 2024. NSDA is implementing the “Strengthening NSDA Project” to develop competency-based learning materials (CBLMs) for 21 occupations, prioritizing demand from sectors. Consulting firms will be engaged to develop these materials.

Objectives of the Assignment: To develop competency-based learning materials (CBLM) on selected 21 (Twenty-one) occupations.

Actual Services provided by SAMAHAR:

Samahar consultants Limited outline a systematic and time-bound methodology for developing CBLMs for listed occupations, which includes reviewing the provided list, selecting writers and editors, setting an adequate number, preparing a Gantt chart, consulting with NSDA, preparing draft CBLMs, and submitting final CBLMs to NSDA.

Developing CBLM for listed occupations need to follow very systematic and time bound method for quality output. The scope of work includes these but not limited to:

  • Review the provided list for CBLM Development.
  • Select Writers and Editors occupation wise.
  • Set adequate numbers of writers and editors to meet the deadline of the task.
  • Prepare Gantt chart for work load distribution with deliverables among writers and editors.
  • Consult with NSDA as and when necessary.
  • Prepare draft CBLM and share with NSDA.
  • Prepare final CBLM and submit to NSDA.
